Safety Rules & Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is Laser Quest?

A: Laser Quest is a futuristic space adventure played in a darkened arena. Each player has a pack and a laser gun. The object of the game is to shoot your opponents and gain a high score. The person with the highest score wins!

Q: What are the safety rules?

A: NO running, NO climbing on the scenery, NO physical contact, NO crouching or crawling on the floor. Players must stay at a safe distance from others where possible at all times. It is extremely important that these safety rules are strictly adhered to.

Q: What is the minimum age and height?

A: The minimum age is 6 with a minimum height of 1.1 metres. All players must be above the age and height to participate.

Q: Are the lasers harmful to your eyes?

A: No. We use Class II lasers, which are regulated by a cut-off so they can only fire a short burst, which will not damage the eyes.

Q: I have a medical condition or disability, can I still play?

A: Laser Quest is not recommended for people with heart problems, epilepsy or other conditions which may be affected by exertion or flashing lights (including pregnancy). Under no circumstances are alcohol, drugs or other intoxicating substances allowed on the premises. You will not be allowed to take part in an event if you have, or appear to have, consumed such substances.

Q: When do Laser Quest games run?

A: Games run every 20 minutes: on the hour, 20 past and 20 to the hour. We are open daily.

Q: How long does a game last?

A: Each game lasts 20 minutes in total. This includes a 5-minute safety talk and explanation on how to play and 15 minutes of game time.

Q: Do I need to book?

A: We advise that you book your game times in advance, especially during the busy weekends.

Q: What is the minimum number of players?

A: Although there is a minimum of 2 players, games are more enjoyable with more people. If your group contains a small number we will endeavour to fit you in with another group.

Q: Can I bring extra players on the day of my booking?

A: Not necessarily. Spaces are only guaranteed if they are booked in advance. Or, alternatively, check with us that spaces are available before bringing along extra players.

Q: Do you host birthday parties?

A: Yes, very much so. Pick up a leaflet from the Laser Quest front desk or ask a member of staff for more details.

Q: Is there a viewing area?

A: Unfortunately no, only Marshalls are authorised to enter the arena when a game is in play.

Q: Is the game supervised?

A: Yes. There is a game marshal who will be supervising the game and ensuring that the
safety rules are being adhered to.

Q: Do you offer memberships?

A: Yes. We offer membership, which includes discounts on all games and the opportunity to play in leagues and in regional, national and international competitions. There are regular, exclusive members’ nights, tournaments and trophies to be won!
